PORT'S AUTOMATED MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM

An automated management system (AMS) for the port's operation is a well-developed
computer system based on modern technologies and software and comprizing
two inter-related sections: the first one is an automated system for the
control of the port's transhipment facilities and the second sector is
an automated system for the management of the port's commercial business.
A special feature of the AMS in Vostochny Port is continuous planning of
the operation of transhipment facilities and traffic of transport facilities
and a very close contact with all modes of transport and major shippers.

The software is functionally divided in the following sub-systems:

- a set of problems (tasks) on the management of the container terminal
operation;

- a set of problems on the management of the coal terminal operation;

- a set of problems on the management of transhipment of cars and other
vehicles;

- a set of problems on the forwarding and tracing of cargoes outside
the port;

- a set of problems on the management of the rail station operation:

- a set of programs to secure reception/transmission of information
and documents over communication channels;

- an automated system of the amalgamated Dispatchers' Office;

- an automated system for labour management;

- an automated system for the management of funds.

The whole complex of technical program facilitates the operations under
the management of a DIAMS operational system.

The AMS is very flexible system in the port's operation. It can be adapted
to any operation conditions within a short time.

The system is highly reliable and survivable due to multiple technical
reserves, simple maintenance and a powerful complex of service programs,
including registration and data revival procedures.
